3D Printed Mohawks on Katy Perry Tour

3D printed Mohawk headgear is lighting up Katy Perry’s opening
song – Roar – in her current Prismatic world tour. Using Stratasys Polyjet and
FDM printers, Hollywood special effects company Legacy Effects produced the
vibrantly coloured headgear in under a week from start to finish. Each piece had
to fit a backing dancer’s head like a glove, so that it would stay in place
during the high-energy routine. What with the mohawks' special lighting effects coordinating with the on-stage antics and pyrotechnics, it has to be a
winning combination. So next time you need bespoke headgear with the wow factor
– and you’re short on time – remember that that the 3D printer is your best
friend.
