Shanghai-based construction company WinSun has announced two amazing feats of 3D printed construction. Not only has it built the world’s largest standalone 3D printed villa – shown here – but it’s also built the highest 3D-printed building (six stories!). The company’s workhorses – gigantic 3D printers – pipe out layers of concrete mixture made up of waste materials. This news comes fast on the heels of WinSun’s announcement in 2014 that it had built 10 full-sized bungalows in less than 24 hours, each costing less than £3,000. And the company isn’t resting on its laurels, either – WinSun
says it can manufacture buildings up to 12 stories high!
